He's my only toon so I can't pass on big bucks from other chars. Also, any other tips concerning money making that isn't only limited to monster slaying is welcome.

ARCHIVED-Zingrad , Sep 28, That along with killing mobs and looting everything to vendor them should do the trick. If you don't have bags, buy some so you can carry loot to sell.

It's not good to just kill for exp and not loot anything, but I know some people do that because they don't want to be bothered with it. Some mobs drop items that sell good on the vendors, you kinda have to play around with it and see if you find them. Other mobs like humanoids drop coins directly. ARCHIVED-Mardy , Sep 28, The other more obvious thing is to set up new toon as a trader in the bazaar.

You should have got the odd few bits of low level defiant gear by now that you can't use so selling that will help.

ARCHIVED-OlafSpritzen , Sep 28, I haven't had to worry about PP for a longtime, until I restarted on Mayong. Find a good zone that drops gems, or other high value vender drops, to experience in. My favorite is The Hole Its been a long time since I searched for good pp zones pre I think Mistmoore was ok for pp in the 20's, but not sure if gems dropped there or not.

Often someone will be offering more pp in buyer mode for an item, than someone is selling one for in the baz. Sometimes you can make pp by purchasing items to run over to the buyers.

It's a bit tedious and boring but you never know, might make a few scores: ARCHIVED-Krip-BB , Sep 29, I did a solo grind on a new server earlier this year with a Mage just to see if I could make it with no help. Buy a healer merc while they don't cost anything or are still cheap.

I did the Mines of Gloomingdeep up to level 10, then the bear caves in Cresent Reach till CR zoneline at Blightfire Moores till 25 or so, then the Sporelli at the Dragon Bones in Blightfire till 30ish.

I only bought the essential spells to this point, i. Somewhere along the way accrued enough plat to go to the Bazaar and begin to buy low and sell high. It doesn't take much plat, just a little luck and a lot of running. When you enter the Bazaar go to the room where people set up in buyer mode and check out what they are buying and what the prices are if you don't know what to look for right off.

Write some down if there are several items you want to try. Run and buy them even if you can only afford to do it one at a time at first and then sell them for profit to the buyer.

I made enough plat this way to buy better spells and some basic equipment. Then from 30 to 50 I did the Sand Giants in South Ro.

Bear Hide Armor :: Quests :: EverQuest :: ZAM

They drop a lot of plat for a newb toon. By the time I was 50 I played a little in Greigs End, but then moved on to Blackfeather Roost to work toward getting the Enchanted Harpy Blade drop.

By the time I hit 65 I had full basic equipment and around 10K in plat. I began doing Dragonscale Hills missions for xp, faycite, and faction. I am back to my regular server again now but still log on some to do DSH missions.

It was much easier leveling this year with defiant drops and mercs than when I started playing during Prophecy of Ro. It took me a year back then to get my main Kelv to level I did it to 65 this year in just a couple of months not trying to hard.

Once you get into the 's you can farm lesser zones for Gems etc. Good luck and best adventures! ARCHIVED-Kelv , Sep 29, There's a simple solution. Kill animals in TSS zones. The organ parts, and their teeth and claws sell well to vendors.

Once you're up to Goru'Kar Mesa, the bears there drop Shiny Bear Teeth, which vendor for 25pp each, and drop frequently. Animals in TBS zones also drop those, but theres nothing for sub to hunt there. ARCHIVED-Saburac , Sep 29, Also, check out Allakhazam for any quests in these zones. Most yield a bit of cash and some are really, really easy.

Most of the junk loot drops in TSS zones sell for decent money also well, decent if you are strapped for cash. Once you get to the appropriate lvl 40ish maybe Hill Giants in Rathe Mts. ARCHIVED-chaese , Sep 29, Try the bear cave if you're in Crescent Reach. A few more levels and you can move into Blightfire Moors. Pick up all the quests you can get, most of them give either gear or plat - or both - and you can earn xp while questing.

ARCHIVED-phaenna , Sep 29, Don't quest, especially if you have a merc. At 14 as a mage I was in paludal caverns killing the recondite bandits making enough money to buy my spells several levels in advance.

I stayed in paludal til 24,then moved to blightfire moors where I killed gnolls for cash and did quests when I was up on money to not have to farm for cash.

At 30 I moved to tower of frozen shadow wtih my healer merc and now am 42 with pp to my name, enough to pay the 10g for my merc and buy my spells. Also, do not buy any gear unless it is so cheap you cannot pass up on it,I am nearly outfitted in rough or better cloth from the tower that I do not need to buy any gear atm.

ARCHIVED-makril , Sep 29, Do NOT buy things in the bazaar, whatever you do. Those things are for high level characters with lots of platinum to throw around.

If you are looting all the stackable items mobs drop when you kill them, you really should be having no problems with coin, at all. Be sure to loot things. Be sure to find out which things are worth more than other things. One stack of bear fangs, or whatever the name is for your level of mobs, will set you for a lot of levels of spells. Good luck, and good hunting. ARCHIVED-wutfor , Sep 29, ARCHIVED-OlafSpritzen , Sep 29, You don't have to buy things everytime you go to the bazaar, but I would keep checking everyday for good deals.

There are people that put things up very VERY cheap, because they just want to get rid of them. Sometimes I would put a few things up cheap, and if you don't buy it, resellers will gobble them up and slap it 5x the price to sell them. So you only have a window of opportunity to get the cheap items. It's not that people don't try to sell things at a reasonable price, it's that you have resellers that buy cheap items up and jack up the price.

Also for spells, especially high level spells, I would always check the bazaar first because many people sell Rank 2 spells for much less than the rank 1 versions you buy on npc vendors. It's not always the case, but it was majority of the case when I checked bazaar to compare the price with rank 1 vendor bought. ARCHIVED-Mardy , Sep 30, Thank's to everyone for all the helpful tips and hints. I've now been able to have enough money to afford some spells and even use my merc every now and then.

As for the above poster telling me not to use the bazaar, I don't. Not only are the prices abysmally high, but I don't want to buy my equipment anyways. Finding my own gear through drops and quests is also part of the journey. It'd be sorta disappointing to me if I was decked out in great gear, and then I'd be fighting against tough monsters and getting good drops that I'd vendor away because I had better gear that I bought from a vendor. It's more exciting to equip those new socks you just fought tooth and nail for.

ARCHIVED-Zingrad , Sep 30, Play well, enjoy your winnings. It is very easy to play this game and level well, and get gear, without ever buying anything from anyone, till you get up in levels well beyond where you are.

There will come a time when you need spells you can't find on vendors, yes. But this is a game where playing with others is expected, and designed in, so to speak. So join a good guild, and they will help you with all your needs. I've played this game since Beta, and I've only bought the occasional fun thing to dable with from the bazaar, when I found I had plenty of platinum.

My friends and guildmates and I, together, have conquered mighty foes to earn our gear, and get our Rank III spells. That's the way to play. ARCHIVED-wutfor , Oct 1, When Tord was a wee Barbarian in need of plat, I'd go to a newbie zone I always preferred Qeynos yard and kill snakes.

I cannot for the life of me remember what it is they drop, but it's worth 1pp and they drop it pretty regularly. I'd build up a good amount - enough to buy food and spells - and go back to playing. There are lots of good suggestions here - I also want to add Dulak's Harbor to the list.

I always had great luck getting gems and nice things from the mobs off the boats. ARCHIVED-Tordail , Oct 2, The fangs which bears drop in Crescent Reach are worth something like 3 or more PP each.

Get a stack of those and a new character would be set for a lot farther along than level Hence why I say someone of that level can't be having money issues, unless they aren't bothering to loot. I've played characters up through the levels to well beyond level 15 without ever once setting foot in PoK.

It's quite easy in Crescent Reach. I've also done it by running through PoK to an old newbie yard, and while it's not as easy, it's still easy. I just checked a level 8 alt I have on one of my accounts, and the mercenary costs him 1 gold per 15 minutes.

One single platinum piece would keep him up for 2 and a half hours. In 2 and a half hours I could loot a whole lot of cracked staffs. Even a single rusty sword brings in more than the price of the mercenary for 15 minutes. At no point have I ever had money problems with a mercenary up. It only gets better. The merc costs something like 45 pp per 15 minutes now, and at T5 will cost aboout 83 pp per 15 minutes. Right now I make about pp per hour just grinding on dark or light blue stuff, of which goes to the mercenary.

I tell you, if you are looting, there is no way to loose money on these guys. Now, there is a consideration with regard to experience rate, since the mercenary takes 40 percent of your experience, but even that I find to still be a bargain, because I am pretty sure I kill more than twice as many mobs per hour when I have that babe healing me.

But that's a totally different issue. The fact remains, the mercenaries don't cost nearly as much to keep out as you make looting your kills, at any level. ARCHIVED-wutfor , Oct 2, ARCHIVED-Geroblue , Oct 2, Once you are around lvl you can kill the skeletons at the undead tower, north of crescent reach zone in blightfire. They are great exp, don't run, and they drop very good vendor items for pp.
