Went in after checking out their mediocre restaurant next door and they smell to like their off smells. A strong smell of OLD meat in the air. Cleanliness is for sure not at the top of their list. Quality is the theme here. We ordered to take Berkshire heritage pork chops. VERY expensive and I hope they are good! When we read that The Meat Market's burger has been rated the best in the USA, going there was a no-brainer.

Having read online reviews, we made our visit there just before lunchtime, and we had our cooler and freezer packs at the ready so We are visiting from out of state and someone mentioned we check out the Campfire Grill, which is the Meat Market Cafe's new restaurant. All locally sourced beef, chicken, fish.

We both had the Meat Market Burger. Server was excellent; management friendly; nice earthy I went in for a steak for one after calling ahead to be sure they could do that. I got there and was told that they could only cut a certain size huge!! This is a great place to go to after a good day of skiing. It has the best burger that I have ever had The coffee is great, and, My wife and I stopped in for lunch on Wednesday July 13th, We were met by someone behind the counter who took our order without any greeting and not a word of thanks after I paid him.

We ordered a New York Style hot I had read the Forbes magazine review which rated the Meat Market burgers the best in the US, so trying them for myself was high on my agenda when I visited Great Barrington.

What a great place, a working butcher shop, no nonsense furnishing and I search for good burgers. In the area for a concert at Tanglewood, saw The Meat Market reviews and had to try it for myself.

The burger was just okay. Even using a thermometer, my friend's burger was more than medium rare, closer I went to the Meat Market to buy sausages for grilling. I had a few questions to ask. I needed to buy very mild sausages. The woman behind the counter was unhelpful and had a nasty attitude.
